Instead of gold coins, you find a massive stash of mysterious potions. This is where the chaos of Brewitched begins. Now, the challenge is to figure out which of these liquids are powerful, valuable potions and which are actually bizarre curses that will drive everyone crazy. The game works as a test of courage and cunning. You'll need to manage your action points to smell, switch, drink, or simply discard the potions. But it's not just about luck; each player takes on one of eight characters, each with special abilities that can turn the tide of the game in your favor. The great twist is that the curses don't just stay on the board: they manifest in real life, creating hilarious situations that will be talked about for weeks. A fundamental point: while Brewitched is widely known as a 'drinking game,' it is totally flexible. If you want to have a drinks night with friends, it's perfect. But if you're playing with family, minors, or the designated driver, just ignore the alcohol part and focus on the fun and funny penalties. The experience remains chaotic and light, focusing on social interaction and those genuine laughs that only happen when someone 'drank' the wrong potion. With fast-paced matches and easy-to-memorize rules, it's the kind of game you pull off the shelf to hype up the crowd without needing hours of explanation. It's pure medieval adventure simulation where luck and mischief go hand in hand. Prepare your glass (or your courage) and try to survive this alchemical feast without losing your sanity! ## How to Play Game Objective In Brewitched, players are adventurers who share and sample unknown potions to discover which ones are the most powerful (and valuable). The goal is to accumulate the most Victory Points by the end of the game. The game ends when a player starts their turn with four identified potions in front of them. The player with the highest number of Victory Points wins! Setup Each player receives a random character. Shuffle the potion cards and form a central face-down deck. Leave space next to it for a discard pile. Deal 4 potions to each player (no peeking). The player who last made a drink goes first (or the winner of the last game). All players face the starting player (point the · on their coasters toward them). The starting player takes their turn, and play proceeds clockwise. Game Flow A player's turn consists of the following phases: Check your status: If you have 3 or more Intoxication Tokens, discard them, fake a vomiting sound, and pass your turn to the next player. Face someone: Point the · on your coaster toward another player. They will be identified for card effects. Use your Action Points (AP): See available actions in the section below. End your turn: The player to your left begins their turn. Actions and How to Play On your turn, you can use your two Action Points (AP) to perform the following actions: Sniff: Peek at one of your cards, then return it face-down in front of you. (1AP) Swap: Trade one of your unidentified potions with an unidentified potion from another player. Drink: Take a sip, flip one of your potions face-up, and execute its effect. This potion is now identified. You can only Drink once per turn! (1AP) Discard: Toss out one of your identified potions and replace it with an unidentified one from the potion deck. Character Ability: Use the ability described on your character card. You can only use your character ability once per turn! (Some cost Action Points, others don't!) End of Game and Scoring The game ends immediately when a player starts their turn with 4 identified potions (not cursed) and fewer than 3 Intoxication Tokens. Players tally the points from their identified potions, and the player with the highest score wins. In case of a tie, the player with the most potions wins. If still tied, the player with the fewest Cursed Potions wins. If the tie persists, the player with the fewest Intoxication Tokens wins. Tips to Win Use the Sniff action to identify valuable potions before drinking or swapping them. Watch out for Cursed Potions and plan how to handle their effects to avoid penalties. Manage your Action Points (AP) carefully to maximize your actions each turn. ## FAQ ### Do I need to drink alcohol to play? Not at all! The game is totally adaptable.
