Ready for a trip back in time with Jurassic Hunt? This roll-and-write game puts you in charge of a tribe of cavemen on a super dangerous mission: hunting dinosaurs! Each turn, you'll use a pool of dice to recruit your team of hunters, each with their own special skills. Need someone to track the beast? Or maybe a mace master to land the final blow? There's a role for everyone! The catch is, it's not just about rolling dice and rushing into battle. Each dinosaur requires a specific combination of warriors to take down. And here's the kicker: after each successful hunt, you permanently lose one of your brave hunters! That's right, you have to plan carefully to avoid running out of troops too soon. To give you a helping hand, you can set traps using dice with specific values, making it easier to catch your prey. The game lasts for 7 turns, and at the end, whoever has accumulated the most points from successful hunts is the champion. It's a game that kind of reminds you of worker-placement, you know? You have to think long-term and manage your resources (your cavemen!) well. Perfect for those who enjoy a strategic challenge with the thrill of dice and a prehistoric theme. Let's go hunt these giants! ## How to Play Game Objective In Jurassic Hunt, players take on the role of a tribal chief. The objective is to recruit hunters, locate dinosaurs, and perform hunts to score points. The game is a "roll-and-write" where you use your dice to gather specialists, follow tracks, and face fierce dinosaurs. The ultimate goal is to achieve the highest possible score at the end of 7 rounds. Preparation (Setup) To set up the game, follow these steps: Each player needs 1 game sheet. Separate the 6 common dice (D6). Have a pen or pencil for each player. An eraser is optional but can be useful. Game Flow The game has 7 rounds. In each round, the game flow is as follows: Roll the 6 dice. Record the values on the corresponding round line on your sheet. Use the dice as desired, choosing from the following actions: Recruit trackers. Recruit hunters. Locate dinosaurs. Prepare campfires. Activate bonuses or traps. Hunt lizards. Hunt dinosaurs (if requirements are met). The game progresses round by round, from the 1st to the 7th, culminating in the Total Score. Actions and How to Play Here are the actions you can perform during the game: Recruit Trackers The number of Trackers you recruit determines which dinosaurs you can hunt, as each dinosaur column requires a specific number of Trackers. To recruit a Tracker, you must: Use dice with values 1 and 2 exclusively. Each recruitment consumes 1 die (with value 1 or 2). Recruit Hunters To recruit a hunter, you must spend a die with the exact value corresponding to the desired hunter type: 3 → Warriors (Weapon: Club) 4 → Spearmen (Weapon: Spear) 5 → Archers (Weapon: Bow and arrow) 6 → Torchmen (Weapon: Torch) If you don't have the correct value, you can spend any 2 dice to mark 1 hunter of any type. This option CANNOT be used to recruit Trackers. Locate Dinosaurs To be able to hunt a dinosaurs, you must first locate it. Each dinosaur has a set of dice drawn below it, which are the location requirements. To locate a dinosaur: Observe the values of each die below the desired dinosaur. You must spend dice from your roll that exactly match the indicated values. When all necessary dice are paid, the dinosaur is considered located and is ready to be hunted in the next step. Examples of requirements: Dice with values 1 - 1 - 4 or Dice with values 2 - 2 - 5. Prepare Campfire To prepare a campfire (funeral) space, you must: Spend 1 die of any value. Mark the corresponding square to indicate that the funeral has been prepared. When a hunter dies: Choose one of the campfires already prepared. Circle the 3-dot circle below that campfire. This circle represents that the campfire has been used. Each campfire accommodates exactly 1 hunter. Activate Bonuses or Traps Bonus – Hunt This bonus can be activated up to 3 times during the game, in any hunt. To activate: Spend 2 dice of any value. Then, choose 1 of the 3 options, provided you have the required number of Trackers. Each activation spends 2 dice, and each of the 3 options is applied only once per game. Bonus – Specials There are 3 special bonuses, each of which can be used only once during the game. The types of bonuses are: Increase any die value by +1. Decrease any die value by -1. Completely change the value of a die to any desired value. Each special bonus is unique: once used, it is exhausted. Traps Traps allow you to replace a required die value in the location of any dinosaur. To set a trap: Spend 2 dice of any value. Choose a specific die value (e.g., 6). From that moment on, any dinosaur that requires that value to be located can have that value replaced by any die you have. Hunt Lizards To hunt lizards, you must spend dice with specific values, exactly as shown on the lizard hunting panel. Scoring: Each die spent earns +1 point. Upon completing an entire row of the lizard hunting panel, you receive a +8 point bonus. Hunt Dinosaurs To hunt a dinosaur, you need: Sufficient number of Trackers (From the dinosaur's column). Required Hunters (e.g., 2 orange, 1 green, etc.). Complete Location (Fill in all dice drawn below the dinosaur). Number of dead hunters (If there is a prepared campfire, receive the points indicated below it). When hunting: Circle the hunt points. Cross out one of the involved hunters if there is a bone symbol. Use a campfire (if any) and gain +3 points. End of Game and Scoring The game ends after the 7th round. The final score is calculated by summing the following items: Points from hunted dinosaurs. Points from used campfires (+3 each). Points from hunted lizards (+1 each). Points for completing lizard rows (+8). Points from trios (+10 each). Points from hunt bonuses. Trio bonuses are awarded if you complete: the 3 white dinosaurs, or the 3 purple ones, or the 3 red ones, or the black one. The goal is to achieve the highest possible score. The Hunter Level is determined by your final score: 100 points: Not the best hunt, but there's always something to eat. 120 points: Interesting trophies, good hunt! 140 points: It's time to elect a new leader for the village! Tips for Winning Thinking ahead makes all the difference, as every victory comes at a price. Use your dice strategically to recruit trackers and hunters that allow you to hunt the most valuable dinosaurs. Consider activating bonuses and setting traps to optimize your dice usage and overcome the dinosaur location requirements. ## FAQ ### How many players can participate?
