Medici: The Card Game captures the bustling atmosphere of 15th‑century Florentine merchants in a compact deck, ditching the heavy auction mechanics of its board‑game predecessor. Each round starts with every player drawing 1–3 cards from a shared pile. The active player must take the last card drawn and may also add one or two of the previously drawn cards, if they are still available. Those cards are loaded onto the player's ship; any cards left behind stay in the draw pool for the next players. When a ship fills up – seven cards in a two‑player game, five in games of three to six – the player exits the round and the day’s scoring is resolved. Points come from the total value of goods in the ship’s hold and from the number of each commodity stored in the player’s warehouse. Some cards contribute value without occupying space, while others help complete warehouse sets, adding a strategic layer. The game runs for three “days,” and the highest cumulative score wins the Medici title.
