## Description
Normandy '44 is the wargame that puts you in the boots of Day‑D commanders and the battles that followed in Normandy. Over 22 turns – each turn representing a day – you decide who advances, who reserves, and who uses that air or naval support that can swing the game in your favor. The hexagonal board covers about 3.8 km per hex, giving a realistic view of the beach and Cotentin Peninsula terrain. Units are regiments and brigades, but armored units have a tank rating that influences combat “shifts.” The ratio-based combat results table simplifies simulation while keeping the tension of each attack. The game comes with a 22‑turn campaign, a 7‑turn scenario focusing on Allied beach linking, and another covering the capture of Cherbourg. What adds extra flavor is the ability to play with three or four players – each commanding a different army – but the original rule set was designed for two, so extra players need some adaptation. The Zone of Control mechanic makes movement tactical, as enemy units can’t advance freely when adjacent. If you love combat simulation, territory control, and want to relive WWII history in detail, Normandy '44 is the right pick. Be ready for hours of strategic planning – the game can last from 4 to 10 hours, depending on the scenario and player experience. The game has a medium complexity level with clear rules but requires patience and attention to detail. If you’re a wargame fan looking for a challenge that blends history and strategy, don’t miss this experience.
