"Undead & Alive" injects new life (or perhaps a new stench?) into the base game, bringing three new Chronicles that pit you head-to-head with the worst the undead world has to offer. That's 36 new cards to spice things up, with quests ranging from a shorter challenge to longer, more immersive campaigns. Prepare to face the shadow forces and deal with the "friendly" undead now roaming the satrapy. The expansion introduces the "Languor" mechanic, a sort of morbid melancholy that affects the hearts and souls of your characters, adding a thematic challenge that will make you think twice before every action. Plus, there's a new incident pack called "Death Abounds," with 20 cards to make things even tenser, and 6 more mission assignments to ensure the fun (and terror) doesn't end too soon. It includes 14 miscellaneous tokens to help organize the chaos. "Undead & Alive" promises to expand Oltréé's cooperative and narrative experience, immersing players in an even darker and more challenging universe. It's the perfect pick for those who've already conquered the base game and are thirsty for more quality content, maintaining the unique atmosphere and tough decisions that define the series. ## How to Play Objective of the Game In Oltréé: Undead & Alive, players are Rangers in a world where death is not always final. Strange creatures like ghouls, necrophages, and vampires haunt ghastly places, feeding on carrion and live prey, and reproducing by infecting living creatures. Necromancers and monsters revive rotting corpses and ancient skeletons, creating dumb undead beasts. Madmen use arcane rituals to become liches and mummies, trading reason for eternal unlife. Finally, wraiths and ghosts are trapped by powerful emotions and memories. The game's theme revolves around these various forms of undead and the supernatural evil known as Languor that can afflict Rangers. Consulte o manual para detalhes sobre esta seção. Preparation (Setup) Languor Cards When playing with the Undead & Alive expansion pack, place the Languor cards in a stack, face down, near the main board. Equipment The expansion includes: 3 new Chronicles (36 cards in total): Starved (Short), With a Wave of the Hand (Long), Old Bones (Long). Languor cards. "Death on the Prowl" Incident cards (3 short, 3 long). 6 new Assignment cards (3 short, 3 long). 15 Skeleton tokens. 8 Seal tokens. 4 Nexus tokens. 1 "Severed Hand" token. The new Assignment cards allow you to play with the 20 "Death on the Prowl" Incident cards. All these Assignments may be played with all of the Chronicles, as long as you make sure the length matches (Short Assignments with Short Chronicles and Long Assignments with Long Chronicles). Fluxo do Jogo Languor Cards During new Chronicles and Incidents, Rangers may fall prey to Languor, a type of supernatural evil. A Ranger who is stricken with Languor must draw the top card in the Languor card pile. The Ranger takes note of the card’s effects and places it, face up, next to their Ranger card. The effect described on the card is applied as long as the Ranger is in possession of this card. Accumulating Languor Each Ranger may only have one Languor card. If a Ranger must draw a Languor card when they already have one, the previous card is discarded and replaced by the new one. The Ranger then loses 1 Vitae. Adversity Marker Movement The Adversity marker cannot skip the Chronicle space if a die roll indicates it should. It must stop there. The Adversity marker cannot stay on the Chronicle space 2 turns in a row. If the marker is already on the Chronicle space and a die roll indicates it should move, the marker must move forward one space. Ações e Como Jogar Dispelling Languor The action Healing in the Community in Region 6 allows you to get rid of a Languor card in addition to regaining all your Vitae. Some cards also allow you to get rid of a Languor card, which will be specified on the card itself. Treasure Treasure is a special resource. This resource is not a "wild card" and cannot be used in the place of other resources. Treasure can be exchanged by Calling on a Community in Region 1. Fim de Jogo e Pontuação Mild Variant Defeat Conditions When the Prestige (1) or the Defense (2) reaches 8, you can't earn any more, so ignore any additional wins. Nothing else happens.
