Each player leads a prehistoric clan and, each round, decides which hunting technologies to acquire, where to spread clan members, and which hunting grounds to claim. Choices are immediate and impactful: pick the technology card that yields the most food, decide the optimal moment to colonize a new sector of the modular board, and vie for empty spaces that are cheaper than those already occupied by rival clans. Movement occurs by area, making route planning clear, while an open drafting of technology cards fuels a constant race for upgrades. Building hunting networks connects your clan to richer food sources. Victory goes to the first player who expands their clan to 13 members, proving they have successfully fed and spread their tribe. A typical game lasts about 60 minutes, supports 2‑6 players, and carries a light weight (2.7/5), making it ideal for those who enjoy strategic depth without marathon sessions. High‑quality components, thematic artwork, and streamlined rules give The First Sparks a faster, more direct feel than its predecessor, perfect for fans of quick tactical decisions and territorial competition. ## FAQ ### How long does a game typically last?
