## Description
Railways of the Western U.S. is the first official expansion for Railways of the World, offering a full map that covers the western half of the United States. All the core elements of the base game stay the same: you lay tracks on hexes, run trains, move goods, and collect money and victory points. The fresh content comes in the form of new tiles, routes and a handful of optional bonus pieces that add strategic depth, yet you can simply plug the new map into the original rules if you prefer. The auction mechanic remains, letting players compete for lucrative rail concessions, while network building and pick‑up‑and‑deliver keep the tactical flow alive. Designed to slot seamlessly with the base game and any other expansions, it also works with the popular Railroad Tycoon title, widening the play options. Supporting 2–6 players, a typical session runs about two hours, making it a solid choice for groups that want a deep but not endless experience. With a BGG weight of roughly 2.9, the rules are clear and the pace suits both newcomers and Eurogame veterans. If you enjoy plotting routes, bidding wars, and fine‑tuning deliveries, this expansion upgrades your board with variety while preserving the original’s smooth gameplay.
