Imagine Spain in 1936. General Franco and his troops are advancing, plunging the country into a brutal cycle of repression and civil war. But the fight didn't end with the official war. You take on the role of the 'Maquis', resistance fighters hidden in the mountains who, using guerrilla tactics perfected in France, fight to reclaim their homeland and defend democratic ideals. Resist! is a dynamic, card-driven solo game where every decision can be the difference between freedom and capture.

The heart of the game is the constant tension between discretion and power. You start by assembling a team of twelve Maquis, but here is the catch: to unlock a fighter's full potential, you must reveal them. The problem? Once revealed, they are removed from your deck. Unlike most deck-building games where you aim to add cards, this is primarily a 'deck-destruction' game. You must manage your resources with surgical precision, deciding who to sacrifice now to survive and who to keep hidden for future missions.

Gameplay is divided into rounds consisting of four phases: Plan, Attack, Aftermath, and Recover. You will face increasingly difficult missions, accumulating victory points to win. But be careful: failing two missions, losing five civilians, or drawing a hand consisting entirely of spies means immediate defeat. At the end of each round, you face the ultimate dilemma: end the resistance and secure victory with what you have, or risk everything on one more dangerous mission. Do you have the courage to resist until the end?
