If you're a fan of card games that you can learn in two minutes but can turn into a high-stakes strategic battle among friends, you've just found your new obsession. The goal is simple, yet tricky: you need to assemble the famous 'combina-cães' (dog combos) using the cards in your hand before your opponents beat you to it. The gameplay flow is super snappy. At the start of each round, everyone gets 5 cards, and the controlled chaos begins with an open discard pile and a few ready-made combinations on the table. On your turn, the choice is yours: draw two cards (from the deck or the discard pile) and you must discard one. But watch out! Some cards feature special 'head' or 'tail' effects that can completely shift the momentum of the game. The game operates in rounds: once you successfully complete a combo using all the cards in your hand, you 'go out,' ending the round and securing your points. However, the ultimate prize—and the shortcut to instant victory—is assembling the legendary 'Perfect Salsicha.' If you pull this off, the game ends immediately and you claim the title of the ultimate dog lover! It's a light, language-independent game, perfect for a quick filler or something you can toss in your bag to play anywhere. You can play it totally chill or with a dash of strategic mischief to block your neighbor's combo. It's pure fun for the whole family! ## How to Play Goal of the Game In Dachshund, you participate in a grand parade of dogs! Your goal is to assemble your Dachshund correctly to earn points. You win the game in two ways: by accumulating victory points until reaching the limit, or by presenting the Perfect Dachshund for an immediate victory! Setup Follow the steps below to set up the table: Prepare the Dachshund Card Deck: For 4 or 5 players: use all the cards. For 3 players: remove all cards of two colors of your choice. Initial Deal: Shuffle the Dachshund Cards and deal 5 to each player. Discard Pile: Open 5 Dachshund Cards in the center of the table. Draw Pile: The remaining Dachshund Cards are placed face down in a pile. Prepare the Match Deck: Place the Perfect Dachshund card in the center of the table, next to the Discard Pile. Shuffle the other 12 Match Cards and flip 3 of them face up. The player who has eaten a hot dog most recently starts the game! Gameplay The game is played in turns. The round continues until a player "goes out". Turn Structure On your turn, you must follow this order: Draw Action: You may choose to draw 0 or 2 Dachshund Cards. If you draw, you may take cards from the Draw Pile and/or the Discard Pile (you may take one from each source or both from the same). If you choose to draw from the Draw Pile, you may look at the first card before deciding whether to also draw the second card from the Draw Pile or the Discard Pile. Discard Action: You must discard 1 Dachshund Card from your hand to the Discard Pile. Discard Effects: Check if the discarded card has special effects: Head: All players pass one card from their hand to the player to their left (clockwise). Tail: All players pass one card from their hand to the player to their right (counter-clockwise). End Turn: Pass the turn to the player on your left. Note: Presenting a Dachshund can be done at the beginning of your turn (before drawing) or at the end of your turn (after discarding and extra effects). Actions and How to Play To play, you must manage your hand to form one of the Matches available in the round. A Match is composed of a Head, a Body, and a Tail, following the colors/letters indicated on the card. Draw Action: Allows you to increase your hand to search for the necessary colors. Discard Action: Necessary to fulfill the turn rule and can be used strategically to activate card exchange effects between players. Going Out: You "go out" when you use ALL the cards in your hand, without exception, to form a Match. End of Game and Scoring The game ends in one of the three ways below: Points: When a player scores 4 or more victory points. The player with the most points wins. In case of a tie, the last player to go out wins. End of Rounds: After 4 rounds, the game ends. The player with the most accumulated points wins. In case of a tie, the last player to go out wins. Perfection: If a player presents the Perfect Dachshund (6 cards of the same color), they win the game immediately. Scoring Dachshund Presentation: The player who "goes out" scores 2 victory points. Consolation Prize: If a player could have gone out by making only one move (drawing 2 and discarding 1, or discarding only 1), they score 1 victory point.
