The game is a dice‑based adaptation of the classic Biblios, keeping the theme of trading sacred texts while introducing rolls that dictate how many auctions occur and how many resources are available each round.

The board features five shifting categories – for instance, "Manuscripts" or "Pigments" – whose values change throughout the game, forcing players to constantly tweak their plans. When the dice call for it, an auction opens: you either bid resources to win gold, or bid gold to acquire needed resources. This auction mechanic combined with dice rolling creates opportunities for bluffing, as you may try to mislead opponents about the true value of an item.
