The setting is a grim Old West, where the quest for black stone that grants power intertwines with the perils of caverns and grotesque creatures. The game retains the cooperative structure of the base title but introduces new characters – henchmen, blacksmiths, faithful dogs, and pack mules – that bring unique abilities and variable player powers. Each ally comes with a record sheet, improvement and mutation tables, and cards that allow you to hire and customize your forces. The modular board expands with new mine sections, and grid movement ensures every step is calculated carefully. Dice rolling remains the core mechanic, determining encounters, combat, and discoveries. The component set includes detailed miniatures, ally sheets, exploration charts, and event cards, all in medium or large size for easy visualization. The game can be played with 1 to 6 players, running about 60 minutes, and presents a moderate level of complexity that challenges both newcomers and veterans alike. It’s perfect for fans of adventure narratives, cave exploration, and cooperative battles that demand strategy and planning.
