If you enjoy the Star Realms universe and want to spice up your games, this expansion brings 18 new cards for you to take on the role of a legendary Commander. Each of these decks, like 'The Coalition', gives you a custom 12-card starting deck, including cards from your commander's favorite factions, plus a powerful mega-ship and two unique Gambit cards to turn the tide. And that's not all! You also receive a Commander card that sets your hand size and starting Authority, and two easy-to-use score trackers. With this arsenal, you can face other commanders in epic duels or even act as a raid boss, taking on multiple players with standard decks. It's a chance to dive even deeper into Star Realms strategy, experimenting with new tactics and challenges. Perfect for existing fans of the series looking for more variety and power in their space battles. ## How to Play Game Objective In Star Realms: Command Deck – The Coalition, you take on the role of High Director Valken, a legendary commander of the Coalition. Your objective is to defeat your opponents, whether a single player using another Command Deck, or two players using standard starting decks. Although you can acquire cards from any faction, your starting deck and your gambits are especially effective with cards from the ⊕ and 0 factions. The victory condition is to reduce your opponent's Authority to zero. Setup Place your High Director Valken card, along with your Coalition Efficiency and Valken's Enterprise gambit cards, face up in front of you. You start with 62 Authority (⬡) and a hand size of six cards. Use the included scorecards to track your Authority. Shuffle the Mech Command Ship card into the Trade Deck before setting up the initial Trade Row. Shuffle the other 12 cards (Cargo Boat, Federation Scout, Frontier Tug, Laser Drone, Ranger, Salvage Drone, [4] Scout, Viper, and Viper Bot) to create your Personal Deck. If you are the first player, your starting hand will be three cards. If you are the second player, your starting hand will be six cards. If playing against two players, these players will use standard starting decks (eight Scout cards and two Viper cards). They will play as a Hydra team with a total of 75 Authority (⬡). Gameplay Flow Refer to the manual for details on this section. Actions and How to Play Coalition Faction Symbol The Coalition faction symbol (represented by ⊕ and 0) means it represents both factions. The Mech Command Ship card counts as a card from both factions and will activate the Ally Abilities of either. Its own Ally Ability can be activated by a ⊕ or 0 card. Gambits Coalition Efficiency: This gambit remains face up in front of you throughout the game. You can use it even if there is no card in the area from which you would have scrapped. Valken's Enterprise: This gambit remains face up in front of you until you use it. You can use it by scrapping it at any time during your Main Phase. When you use it, flip it over and put the Coalition Stronghold base into play. End of Game and Scoring Refer to the manual for details on this section. Tips for Winning Refer to the manual for details on this section. ## FAQ ### Do I need the base Star Realms game to play with this command deck?
