In Tajuto, each player takes on the role of a Buddhist monk striving to reach the highest level of spirituality while helping to build a magnificent garden of eight pagodas. The historical backdrop dates back to 532, when Buddhism arrived in Japan and Prince Shotoku ordered the creation of a sacred village with eight towers, promising that the completion of the fourth pagoda would turn the place into a major pilgrimage site. On the board, monks use action tiles to draw pagoda tiles from an opaque bag, make offerings that generate meditation points, and acquire cards that speed up progress or award spirituality points. Activating extra actions or buying tiles costs meditation points, forcing careful resource management.
