Players then lay down 1‑4 cards of the same animal, refill to five cards, and when eight cards total or four of a single animal are played, the animals move according to quirky rules: the turtle moves one space, or two if four cards are played; the hare runs two spaces per play but sleeps if it’s leading with four cards; the fox moves a number of spaces equal to the cards played; the lamb moves one more space than the cards, stopping to drink at water; the wolf moves 1‑2 spaces if few cards are played, or one less than the number of cards if more, plus it has howl cards that freeze others. After movement, a new round begins. The game ends when three of the five animals reach the finish, and points are awarded based on final placement and bets.
