## Lore goes up, not down

Lorcana inverts the logic of the other TCGs on this list: there is no life to reduce. Players accumulate lore by questing with their characters, and the first to 20 wins. It is a race, not a slugfest.

So the counter works as a rising scoreboard. The most common mistake is confusing damage on characters with the player's score: damage sits on the character and does not affect lore already banked.

Since the game ends the moment someone reaches 20, tracking the opponent's score in real time changes turn decisions — it is worth keeping both panels visible at once.
