Each participant commands a famous figure – from knights to sorcerers – and wields a deck filled with weapons, spells, deceit, and even alchemy to wound opponents. The goal is to survive the tournament: when a character’s health drops to zero they leave the game, and the player with the most health at the end is declared the winner. The core brilliance lies in the blend of trick‑taking, Take‑That, and variable player powers. Every round is a trick where the highest card wins, but Take‑That cards let you sabotage rivals, shifting the tide. Each hero also boasts a unique ability that can dramatically reshape strategy, ensuring no two games feel the same. Additional flavor comes from Morgan Le Fay cards and location panels that grant extra benefits to the round’s host, encouraging informal diplomacy and temporary alliances. The game runs about 45 minutes, supports 3‑6 players, and has a gentle learning curve, although the English‑only rules may need translation for non‑speakers. Owners of the predecessor "Tournament at Camelot" can mix decks and run an even larger "Chaos of Battle" tournament with up to eight participants. In short, Avalon delivers tactical combat, light negotiation, and plenty of twists in a nicely themed medieval package. ## FAQ ### How many players can join? 3 to 6 players, up to 8 if you combine it with Tournament at Camelot. ### How long does a game take?
