Exile

Some player cards must be exiled when used. The process works as follows:

• The card is removed from play and returned to the collection.
• In a campaign game, the exiled card must be repurchased with experience points between scenarios so it can return to the deck.
• If exiling reduces the investigator deck below its legal size, the player must purchase cards (which may be level 0 cards for 0 experience) between scenarios until the legal size is maintained.

Researched

Researched is a keyword ability found on some high-level cards (commonly on Seeker cards). To include a card with this keyword in the deck, the following rules must be followed:

• The card must be "identified" or "translated" by completing a task on a lower-level version of the same card.
• The result of that task must be recorded in the Campaign Log.
• The investigator can only include the researched card in the deck after upgrading it from its lower-level version and having the task completion noted in the Campaign Log.
• Once an investigator completes and records the task, any investigator in the campaign can upgrade the card following the normal rules for upgrading player cards.

Tips for Winning

• Deck Management: Keep an eye on the size of your investigator deck; if cards are exiled and the size falls below the legal limit, use the inter-scenario phase to rebuild the deck with level 0 cards if necessary.
• Card Progression: To gain access to powerful cards with the keyword Researched, prioritize completing tasks on lower-level versions of the cards and ensure you record the completion in the Campaign Log.
