About Us
Last updated: June 15, 2026.
At BoardGameBot, we believe that playing board games is one of the best ways to connect people, build memories, and exercise the mind. However, we also know that the experience isn't always seamless: complex, multi-page rulebooks, cards with text in other languages that might pose a barrier to some players at the table, and the constant need to pause the game to look up rules.
BoardGameBot was created specifically to eliminate these points of friction. Our goal is to be the smart assistant sitting at your table, explaining rules on the fly, reading cards via image capture (OCR), translating technical terms, and narrating card flavor texts or rule sections with immersive audio. We want you to spend less time worrying about rules and more time enjoying the game and the company.
The Founder
The project was envisioned and developed by Dan Mark Printes (known in both the board game and tech communities as Dan Printes). Dan is a tech and product leader with over 20 years of experience building and scaling digital products in Brazil.
Throughout his career, Dan co-founded PM3 in 2018, which became the leading education platform and community for Product Management in Brazil (acquired by the Alura Group). He has also served as Chief Product Officer (CPO) and Product Director at renowned technology and gaming companies, such as Tapps Games (one of the largest Brazilian mobile game publishers) and Unico IDtech (a leader in digital identity and cybersecurity). Today, he is the founder and CEO of Meelion, a platform focused on bringing transparency and intelligence to fixed-income investments in Brazil.
As a long-time board game enthusiast and active member of the community (contributing on platforms like Ludopedia), Dan decided to combine his professional experience in digital product design with his personal hobby of collecting and playing games. BoardGameBot is the result: a tool built to make modern board gaming more accessible, dynamic, and fun for everyone.
