Privacy Policy

BoardGameBot (“Service”) respects your privacy. This document describes how we handle personal data when you use the website at www.boardgamesbot.com, the web application (PWA), and, when available, the Google login.

1. Controller

The controller responsible for personal data relative to this Service is the owner of the BoardGameBot project, who can be reached exclusively via email at contato@boardgamesbot.com (including requests under CCPA/GDPR/LGPD: access, rectification, deletion, portability, opposition, and info about processing and sharing).

2. Data We May Collect

  • Google Account (optional): if you use “Sign in with Google”, we receive from Google identifiers associated with your account (e.g., user ID, name, email, and profile picture, in accordance with your consent and OAuth permissions configured in the Google Cloud Console).
  • Account Preferences (optional): when logged in, we can save server-side settings you choose in your profile (e.g., interface language, autoplay, high-quality OCR, default to live video capture, and selected premium voice for reading), associated with your account.
  • Images and Text: images you capture or send for OCR and the extracted text or text you type in the application. Processing can occur on the device (e.g., Tesseract.js) and/or on our or third-party servers when you use features depending on an API (e.g., Google Cloud Vision, translation, TTS).
  • Technical Data: server logs, IP address, browser type, request date/time — for security, aggregated statistics, and legal compliance.
  • Measurement and Analytics: we use Google Analytics and other analytics tools (e.g., traffic and product statistics services) to understand how the Service is used, browsing patterns, performance, and aggregated user behavior, to improve the experience and product. These providers may use cookies or similar identifiers; see also our Cookies Policy and the policies of respective third parties.
  • Local Preferences: your browser may store settings (e.g., voice mode, speed) on your device via localStorage or similar.

3. Purposes and Legal Grounds (GDPR / LGPD)

We provide the Service you request (performance of contract / pre-contractual measures); we comply with legal obligations; and, when applicable, processing is based on consent (e.g., non-strictly necessary cookies, marketing) or legitimate interest (security, product improvement, aggregated measurement of use), respecting your rights.

4. Google and Other Providers

The use of Google Sign-In, Google Cloud Vision, Cloud Text-to-Speech, Google Analytics or other Google APIs and services is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and the Google API Services User Data Policy (including Limited Use requirements, when applicable). The use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to another application will follow that policy.

5. Retention

We retain data only as long as necessary for the described purposes or as required by law. You can request deletion of your account or data as described in the “Your Rights” section below, subject to legal or technical limitations (e.g., backups).

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share with providers that assist us (hosting, email, APIs, analytics) under appropriate agreements, and with authorities when legally required.

7. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures. No system is risk-free; use strong passwords and keep your devices updated.

8. Your Rights

Depending on applicable law (including GDPR in the EU and LGPD in Brazil), you may request access, rectification, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection, and withdraw consent. Contact contato@boardgamesbot.com. You have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority.

Complete Data Removal under the Profile tab: when logged in, on the BoardGameBot profile screen, use the “Delete account and my data” button to immediately delete your account in the Service, all history entries in the database, and any history image files on the server; the session is then terminated. For other queries regarding personal data, you can write to the email above.

9. International Transfers

If we use providers outside your country, international transfers may occur supported by standard contractual clauses or other safeguards provided by law.

10. Minors

The Service is not intended for minors under 16. If we become aware of minors' data without valid parental consent, write to contato@boardgamesbot.com to delete them.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top indicates the latest revision. Relevant changes may be communicated in the Service or via email when appropriate.
