Objective of the Game
In Sinais de Carcosa, investigators must discover the cause of a growing madness that plagues the cities of the world. As the population loses sanity, people begin to have visions of a distant lake and the phantasmal towers of an alien city. The goal is to confront the threats brought by this new Ancient and its Monsters to prevent the spread of this madness.
Preparation (Setup)
To set up the game using this expansion, follow these steps:
- Prelude Cards: Before starting the general setup, players must draw a random Prelude Card. The effect of this card must be resolved immediately, unless the card specifies a different timing (such as "after resolving the setup").
- Expansion Components: Add all expansion components to their respective decks or component reserves of the base game Eldritch Horror, with the following exceptions:
- Debilitation Tokens: Add all Debilitation Tokens to the general token pool.
- Unique Assets: Shuffle all Unique Assets to create the Unique Asset Deck. Place this deck face up near the Asset Deck.
- Other Components: Integrate the new Investigator Tokens, the Ancient Token, the Encounter Cards (General, America, Europe, Asia/Australia, Expedition, Otherworld, Research, and Special), Mystery Cards, Myth Cards, Artifact Cards, Asset Cards, Condition Cards, Spell Cards, Investigator Tokens, and Monster Tokens.

Actions and How to Play
Asset Mechanics and Abilities
- Unique Assets: They are possessions represented by double‑sided cards. An investigator cannot look at the back of a Unique Asset unless an effect allows. They can be traded via the Asset Swap Action and there is no limit to how many Unique Assets an investigator can possess. When a Unique Asset is discarded, all tokens on it must also be discarded. <
