About the game
BattleTech is the tactical war game that will make you feel the roar of metal giants in every turn. Each player controls one to four BattleMechs – those huge, almost humanoid robots armed with lasers, particle cannons, and missiles – and attempts to dominate the hexagonal battlefield. What sets BT apart is the blend of dice rolling, movement points, and heat management: every attack generates heat, and if your Mech overheats, it starts losing accuracy, slowing down, and even detonating its ammunition! Additionally, each player can choose between ready-made models or build their own Mech from scratch, giving a level of customization few games offer. The board can be a simple hex map or a full set of scenario maps, and there are optional rules for playing without hexes. Components are robust: 2‑cm miniatures you can paint at will, metal parts (Mech, vehicle, etc.) and high‑quality dice. The learning curve is moderate: you need to master heat calculations, attack ranges, and movement rules, but the community is huge and there are plenty of online resources. If you love strategy, tactics, and a sci‑fi universe with epic battles, BattleTech is your next stop. The game also has a series of supplements, from advanced combat rules to historical scenarios, keeping the fun fresh for a long time.
