Game Objective
Refer to the manual for details on this section.
Preparation (Setup)
To add the Mystics of Midgard to your Blood Rage game, follow the steps below:
- Shuffle the Clan Upgrades contained in this pack into the appropriate Divine Gifts deck. If you are playing with fewer than 4 players, set aside the cards marked with the "4+" prerequisite.
- Each clan has two Mystic miniatures at its disposal. Attach the appropriate colored base to all Mystic miniatures to help identify them and place them all in the common area, near the Monsters. Players will not have access to them until the Clan obtains the necessary Clan Upgrade.
- Each player takes the Mystic Reference card and places it next to their Clan Sheet as a reference for the basic Strength and ability of the Mystics. The reference cards indicate that the Ram Mystic, Bear Mystic, Wolf Mystic, Raven Mystic, and Serpent Mystic have Strength 2 and Invade for free.
Note: To play Blood Rage with 5 players and use the Ram Clan, you will need the 5-Player Expansion, sold separately.

Actions and How to Play
Using Mystics
Initially, players will not have access to their clan's Mystics. Access is granted as follows:
- When a player gives their clan one of the upgrade cards contained in this pack, one of their Mystic miniatures is added to their reserve. Unlike a Monster or Troop Upgrade, when you play a Clan Upgrade, you cannot immediately March with the Mystic miniature. It is merely added to your reserve. In a future turn, you can spend an action to invade with your Mystic.
- Invading with a Mystic costs no Rage, and they have Strength 2.
- When you add a second Mystic Clan Upgrade to your Clan, the second Mystic miniature is added to your reserve, and can later be used to March onto the board.
- If you place a third Mystic Clan Upgrade, you will not take a third Mystic miniature, as there are only two figures available for each clan. However, your two Mystics will benefit from the abilities of all your Clan Upgrades.
Mystic Abilities
- Each Mystic Clan Upgrade your clan possesses grants all of your Mystics the ability listed on it.
- If your clan possesses multiple such Clan Upgrades, each of your Mystics gains all abilities listed on those cards.
- Note, however, that if you have two copies of the same card, their abilities do not stack.
- If you later discard one of your Mystic Clan Upgrades to replace it with another card, you do not lose your Mystic miniature; they merely lose that special ability.
General Mystic Behavior
For all other game purposes, Mystics function like any other miniature belonging to your clan, such as Warriors or Leader. They count towards your Helm limits, they add STR in battle and for completing quests, they grant you Glory when destroyed in Ragnarök, and are returned to your reserve when released from Valhalla.
End of Game and Scoring

Tips for Winning
- Prioritize acquiring Mystic Clan Upgrades to add your Mystics to your reserve, as they invade without Rage cost and have Strength 2, which can be a tactical advantage.
- Accumulate different Mystic Clan Upgrades so that your two Mystics gain multiple abilities, making them more versatile and powerful in combat and for completing quests.
