About the game
Get ready for a trip back in time with Catan: Ancient Egypt! This time, Klaus Teuber takes us to the land of the pharaohs, transforming the classic Catan into an Egyptian adventure. Instead of settlers, you'll control your oxcarts to move essential resources, building villages and temples that echo the grandeur of antiquity. But beware! The dreaded Egyptian robber, in his chariot, lurks to disrupt production at your farms, papyrus groves, and quarries. Dice rolls are still crucial, as is your ability to negotiate with opponents to get what you need. The base game already offers an engaging experience, but the variants promise to boost the fun. With 'Help from the Gods,' ten divine cards bring unique powers to change the game at any moment, adding an extra layer of strategy and surprise. 'The Great Pyramid' challenges you to build and move papyrus boats along the Nile, competing for the favor of the pharaoh and vizier by raising blocks for the monumental pyramid. If you enjoy Catan and have a special fondness for Ancient Egypt, this version will win you over!
