About the game
What you do in a play session
Get ready to hit the gas with Das Motorsportspiel, a racing game that comes in a highly unconventional tube packaging! Inside, you'll find giant, poster-sized maps and a fleet of super-detailed touring car miniatures – complete with spoilers, ornaments, and all the works. The race kicks off with cars lined up, and each turn, the current player chooses to roll one, two, or three dice. One of them is special, with faces from 1 to 3, while the other two are standard dice. The catch? Before moving, you must decide the exact order in which you'll use the dice results. And watch out in the corners! Entering a corner faster than the track allows results in a driving error, which could send you straight to the pits. Dice showing 2, 3, or 5 allow for diagonal movement; otherwise, the car must maintain its lane. There's even a drafting mechanism for those who can position themselves well behind opponents. To add extra spice and prevent the game from becoming purely calculative, the rules state that 'a die laid is a die played,' and each player's turn is timed. The original game came with the Hockenheimring track, but expanding with new tracks like Nürburgring and Oschersleben is super easy and adds even more excitement to the competition. It's an intense and strategic racing experience, with a touch of simulation and the adrenaline of real-time play.
