How to Play Dead Reckoning: Sea Dogs Expansion

Objective of the Game

The Sea Dogs Expansion for Dead Reckoning introduces asymmetric player abilities through special Sea Dog cards, which replace standard Sailor Illustration cards in your deck. These cards grant unique abilities tied to specific sailor types (e.g., Captain, Buccaneer) and enhance strategic depth. In regular games, players draft these cards at the start. In campaigns, players earn them progressively, adding permanence to their decks across multiple games.

Preparation (Setup)

Regular Games

• Deal each player 4 random Sea Dog cards.
• Players draft by selecting 1 card and passing the rest left. Repeat until each player has 4 cards.
• These cards replace basic Illustration cards in their decks for the current game only.

Campaign Games

• At the end of each campaign game, deal 3 random Sea Dog cards to each player, plus 2 extra cards to the winner.
• Each player selects 1 card to permanently sleeve onto a matching sailor type in their deck. If no matching type is available, replace any basic Illustration card.
• Retained cards persist for the entire campaign.
