DungeonQuest is an adventure and exploration game that sends players through the ruins of the feared Castle Dragonfire in search of the central treasure vault. The goal is to escape alive with as much treasure as possible before time runs out. The core mechanic revolves around rolling polyhedral dice, determining combat outcomes, movement, and random events. Players also make risk decisions, choosing whether to push forward or retreat before danger catches them. Tile placement builds a dungeon maze that changes each game, ensuring a unique experience every time. The game blends RPG elements, where each character has distinct abilities, with a Rock‑Paper‑Scissors mechanic that resolves conflicts quickly and playfully. Strategic variety emerges from the different combinations of player powers, letting each session feel fresh. Components include dungeon tiles, multi‑sided polyhedral dice, character tokens, treasure cards, and a board representing the dungeon entrance. The game supports 1 to 4 players and lasts between 20 and 60 minutes, depending on player experience. The original edition was released in Sweden in 1985 as Drakborgen and was adapted for several countries, including the UK where it was titled DungeonQuest. Since then, multiple editions and expansions have kept the game relevant for dungeon‑crawler fans. Ideal for those who enjoy strategic challenges, exploration, and a touch of luck, DungeonQuest offers a rich and engaging experience that blends classic board‑game elements with modern mechanics.
