About the game
What you do in a play session
Get your hunting gear ready, because things are about to get dark! In Final Rites, you step into the shoes of a hunter tracking supernatural creatures in a setting that blends horror and mythology. The goal is straightforward but requires a sharp eye: you need to find the perfect match between a Threat card (the monster) and an Execution card (the method to defeat it). Once matched, they go straight to your Trophy Pile.
But don't expect a peaceful hunt. The game is fast-paced and full of twists. During your turn, you can draw cards from your opponents, trying to snatch victory away from them. If you find a matching pair in someone else's hand, you can claim it immediately! On the flip side, prepare for some 'Take That' action: specialty cards allow you to interfere with your rivals' Trophy Piles, throwing a wrench in their plans for victory.
The tension ramps up as the deck thins. The game concludes once all possible monster pairs have been claimed. The hunter with the most trophies in their pile takes the win. However, watch out: there is a single Death card in the deck. If you're the unlucky soul left holding it when the game ends, you lose automatically, regardless of how well you've played. It's a quick, punchy experience perfect for 20-40 minute sessions, where luck and mischief collide.
