Put on your apron and sharpen your knife, because Foodie Forest is a quick and flavorful card game, perfect for those who enjoy a dash of luck and a good dose of strategy.
Created by the master Reiner Knizia, the game places you in a forest where animals love to cook. But forget the idea of cooking together! Here, the gameplay is more akin to a trick-taking game, but with a twist: instead of just playing the highest card, you and the other players will add cards to a common pile until their sum reaches or exceeds 10. Whoever plays the card that makes the sum go over takes everything on the table!
The catch is that each game has five rounds, and in each round, there's a secret objective everyone wants to achieve. It could be collecting as many mushrooms, pea soups, onions, or peppers as possible – the latter, by the way, can give you a headache if they're not your focus! Or perhaps the objective is precisely to take nothing at all? Objectives are revealed simultaneously, so there might be fierce competition or sheer luck if no one else is eyeing what you want.
And the challenge increases because you cannot repeat an objective. In the final round, things get tense: no matter what cards you've been dealt, you'll have to make do with what's left to fulfill the goal you haven't completed yet. With games that last exactly half an hour, Foodie Forest is perfect for those who want a delightful and efficient experience, without any fuss.

What are the game components?
The game mainly consists of cards, featuring animal and culinary themes, and markers for the objectives.
