Game Objective
Consulte o manual para detalhes sobre esta seção.
Preparation (Setup)
- The challenger draws an event card to determine who the defender will be.
- Each active player draws one house card and distributes one power from their leader sheet.
- The challenger selects a character to participate in the encounter, followed by the defender.
Game Flow
The game progresses through a series of encounters structured as follows:
- Support: Non-active players may offer one character to support either the challenger or the defender.
- Encounter: active players choose and place one card from their hand facedown. Note that character cards are treated as hostility cards with zero value. Cards are then revealed.
- Resolution: Rewards and penalties are applied based on the outcome. After this phase, each player draws until they have five house cards.
Additionally, at the start of a turn, any player has the option to release or torment a hostage.
Actions and How to Play
Hostage Management
Players can interact with hostages at the start of a turn using two different actions:
- Releasing a Hostage: The player returns the card to the original owner’s hand and then draws one card from their own house deck.
- Tormenting a Hostage: The player places the card in the original owner’s discard pile. The effect depends on the card type:
- Leader: Immediately return four power from the leader sheet.
- Characters: Remove four power from that character’s token.
- Hostility or Truce: The tormenting player removes one power from one character in that house and places it on their own leader sheet.
Encounter Outcomes
The results of the Encounter phase lead to different resolutions:
- General Penalty: All losing characters remove half of their power (rounded up), placing it on the leader sheet. A character with no power remaining dies immediately.
- Challenger Wins: Players on the winning side may either spread one influence to the defender or draw an ally. The active challenger then takes one hostage from one losing participant.
- Defender Wins: Players on the defending side may either draw two cards and distribute two power from their leader sheet, or draw an ally. The active defender then takes one hostage from one losing participant.
- Betrayal Outcome: The side with the hostility card wins. The active player on the losing side takes one hostage from each player on the winning side.
- Truce Outcome: The two active players enter an open discussion to barter for one influence, two hostages, or three power between leader cards. If no agreement is reached, all participants suffer loss penalties.

Tips for Winning
- When tormenting a hostage, target a Leader to return four power to your leader sheet, or target a Hostility or Truce card to steal power from an opponent's character.
- Manage your hand carefully, as you only draw back up to five house cards after the resolution phase.
