The setup for Glüx: Extra Chips follows the rules of the base game, with some specific changes for this expansion:
- Each player must set aside one light chip 1/6 and one light chip 3/4 and return them to the game box.
- After each player places a light chip on their starting marker, they must add the two new light chips (the light chips 0/7 and the diagonal light chips 1/6) to their bag, along with the other light chips.
