Get your army of nasty creatures ready, because the Blood Moon has risen and the Goblin war is on! In GOSU, you step into the shoes of a warlord in a fantasy world, striving to build the most fearsome army around. The game is a fast-paced mix of strategy and combat, blending the engine-building feel of Race for the Galaxy with the thematic punch of Magic: The Gathering. Your mission is straightforward but tricky: win three battles to claim total supremacy.
To win, you'll need to recruit goblins from various classes—such as mages, heroes, and soldiers—spread across five distinct clans. Strategy is key here: you can't just play any card you want. Goblins evolve through levels (I, II, and III), and to recruit an elite warrior, you must already have a subordinate of the same clan on the table. This creates a great specialization dynamic, allowing you to focus on a specific clan to reap synergy bonuses or diversify your forces.
Combat unfolds in quick turns where you can recruit new troops, activate special abilities, or draw cards to bolster your deck. But watch out! You have limited resources (activation tokens) and must manage your timing and hand carefully. If you blow all your strength in one battle, you might find yourself defenseless in the next. Interaction is constant: be ready to use 'Take That' abilities to disrupt your friends' plans and ensure your army is the most powerful once the dust settles. It's a high-tempo game, perfect for players who love seeing action unfold on the table without unnecessary downtime.
