Welcome to the renowned Hanamikoji, the Geisha street in Japan's ancient capital! Here, Geishas are figures of prestige, masters in various arts such as music, dance, and traditional ceremonies. In Hanamikoji, two players engage in an elegant and strategic contest to win the favor of seven illustrious Geishas. The objective is simple, but execution is a challenge: each Geisha has a favorite performance item, and whoever collects more of these items, or a specific set, wins the game.
Each round, players use a limited set of actions to manipulate item cards. You'll need a lot of cunning to decide which cards to play, which to keep, and which to 'sacrifice' to your opponent. The 'I Cut, You Choose' mechanic is at the heart of the game, where you divide cards into groups, and your opponent chooses one group first, forcing you to think carefully about how to divide them so as not to hand over victory on a silver platter. It's a game of subtle bluffing, anticipation, and hand management, all in a small, super portable package. Get ready for a quick and engaging mental duel!
