About the game

What you do in a play session

HEROish is your solo dice-rolling, resource-management adventure in a fantasy world. You start in Town with 10 Coins and a ragtag party. The goal? Explore the map, defeat monsters, and haul loot back before going broke. Every turn forces tough choices: spend coins to move, fight creatures in poker-style dice battles (yes, you can bluff or double down!), and recruit heroes with special abilities — which also cost cash. The trick is knowing when to push forward or retreat to Town to convert loot into coins (but lose your team). And watch out at the Tavern, where you can gamble everything on 'double or nothing'. Run out of coins? Game over. Defeat all monsters? Epic win! A quick (5-30min) game blending luck, strategy, and tabletop drama.

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers before you buy

5 questions
Can you play with more players?
Nope, it's strictly solo — but you can take turns controlling the hero and cheer together against monsters!
Do I need to print anything beyond the rules?
Yes! You'll need to print the map, monster/hero cards, and tokens. Can improvise with pieces from other games.
Is it hard to learn?
Not at all — rules fit on 2 pages. The real challenge is managing coins and knowing when to push your luck.
How does it differ from other solo games?
The bluffing/betting combat system is unique. Feels like a casino minigame inside an adventure!
Worth it for luck-haters?
If you despise dice, maybe skip. But resource management helps balance the randomness.
