Goal of the Game
In Insider, players take on different roles: Master, Insider, and Commoners. The goal is for the Commoners, along with the Master, to discover a clue written by the Master and then identify who the Insider is. If they succeed, everyone wins except the Insider. Otherwise, the Insider wins alone.
Setup
To begin, shuffle the cards and deal one to each player. The cards include:
- 1 Master card
- 1 Insider card
- 2 to 6 Commoner cards, depending on the number of players
The player who receives the Master card must reveal themselves. Everyone else closes their eyes. The Master writes a clue and closes their eyes. The Insider sees the clue and also closes their eyes. The Master hides the clue, and everyone opens their eyes.
Gameplay Flow
The game is divided into two main phases:
- Guessing the Clue: Players have 5 minutes to ask the Master questions, who can only answer with "yes", "no", or "I don't know". If they do not guess the clue within this time, everyone loses.
- Identifying the Insider: If the clue is guessed, a countdown begins using the amount of time it took the players to discover the clue. During this period, everyone discusses and votes on who the Insider is. If the majority is correct, everyone except the Insider wins. If the majority is incorrect, or if there is no majority, or if time runs out, the Insider wins alone.
Actions and How to Play
During the game, players can perform the following actions:
- Asking Questions: Players can ask the Master questions, who responds only with "yes", "no", or "I don't know".
- Discussing and Voting: After guessing the clue, players discuss and vote on who they believe is the Insider.
Consult the manual for details regarding this section.
End of Game and Scoring
The game ends in two ways:
- If the players do not guess the clue in 5 minutes, everyone loses.
- If the clue is guessed, the players have a limited time to identify the Insider. If the majority is correct, everyone except the Insider wins. If the majority is incorrect, or if there is no majority, or if time runs out, the Insider wins alone.

- Observe Behavior: During the discussion, pay attention to the behavior of other players to identify potential signs of the Insider.
- Stay Calm: Time is crucial, so stay calm and think quickly during the guessing and voting phases.
