Step by step
Objective of the Game
The Anubis Monster Pack is an expansion compatible with the King of Tokyo and King of New York base games, and all their expansions. It introduces new components and effects to enhance the gameplay experience. The core objective of the game remains to be the last monster standing or to achieve 20 Victory Points, but with Anubis, players will contend with new challenges and opportunities presented by the die of Fate and Curse cards.
Preparation (Setup)
To set up a game with the Anubis Monster Pack:
- Include the Anubis Monster board, cardboard figurine, and figurine stand if a player chooses to play as Anubis.
- Add the die of Fate to the other dice used in the game.
- Shuffle the 24 Curse cards to form a face-down draw pile.
- Reveal and read the top Curse card; this Curse will now affect all players until it is replaced.
- Place the 1 Golden Scarab card. At the start of the game, give it to the player who will play last.
- If playing with Evolution cards, you will need the Power Up! expansion for your base game. The 8 Evolution cards for King of Tokyo and 8 Evolution cards for King of New York work in the same way as the Evolutions in those expansions.
Fluxo do Jogo
The game progresses in turns, with players rolling dice to perform actions. When using the die of Fate, it is rolled along with the other dice in the normal way. Players can re-roll it or set it aside, just like the other dice. However, Keep and Evolution cards that modify dice rolls have no effect on the die of Fate. The die of Fate must always be resolved before resolving the other dice.
Ações e Como Jogar
The Anubis Monster Pack introduces the die of Fate and Curse cards, which add new actions and effects to the game:
- Rolling the Die of Fate: Roll the die of Fate with the other dice. You can re-roll it or set it aside.
- Resolving the Die of Fate: The die of Fate must always be resolved before you resolve the other dice. The hieroglyph at the top of the die shows the result.
- Die of Fate Effects:
- Change Curse: Discard the current Curse and reveal the next one.
- No effect: The current Curse card’s permanent effect remains active.
- Suffer the Snake effect: This effect is specific to the Snake effect.
- Receive the blessing of the Ankh effect: This effect is specific to the Ankh effect.
- Curse Cards: These cards introduce a new game component. A Curse affects all players until it is replaced by the next one.
- Evolution Cards: If playing with Evolution cards, they let you play with boosted Monsters. Anubis Evolutions work in the same way as the Evolutions in King of Tokyo: Power Up! and King of New York: Power Up!
- Conflicting Effects: If two Evolution, Power, and/or Curse cards have conflicting effects, the negative/prohibiting effect prevails. For example, if one card requires you to Yield Tokyo but another card prohibits you from leaving Tokyo, stay in Tokyo.

Dicas para Vencer
- Pay close attention to the active Curse card, as its effects can significantly alter strategy for all players.
- Consider the implications of the die of Fate results. Deciding when to re-roll it versus keeping a result can be crucial, especially for the Change Curse effect.
