How to Play Kingdomino: The Court

Objective of the Game

In Kingdomino: The Court, powerful beings have decided to partner with your kingdom to build a new, better world. Players aim to use the resources generated by their kingdom to construct new buildings and recruit the most influential characters in the new magic court.

Preparation (Setup)

To set up the game, first place the two reference boards on the back halves of the layout board. All character tiles are placed in a single bag, or if using layout boards, in a single pile on the top row. Similarly, all building tiles are placed in a single bag, or in a single pile on the middle row. Finally, all dragon tiles are placed in a single bag, or in a single pile on the bottom row. If using layout boards, place the tiles in their designated spaces. If using bags, you will draw 4 tiles and pick one each time you earn a reward. The game also includes hundreds of tokens for use in this expansion and other games.

Fluxo do Jogo

The positioning and method of selecting the dominos is exactly the same as in the basic game. When the dominos are placed in their respective rows, you just add the resources to each square without a crown.

Ações e Como Jogar

Players can perform several actions during their turn. At the end of your turn, you can:

• Spend 2 treasure tokens to move an already placed tile to a new legal location. All tiles must be legal after this single tile move.
• Spend 1 potion and two different treasure tokens to move an already placed tile to a new legal location.
• Spend 2 potion tokens and 2 different treasure tokens to recruit a character or dragon.
• Spend 4 different resources to build a building.
• Spend a potion and 3 different resources to recruit a dragon.

When playing a split building tile, one half of the split tile must match the terrain type of the square where you place the building. Buildings and some dragons give additional crowns for calculating points for the domains.

Fim de Jogo e Pontuação

Each character gives points according to a specific scale. For example, a merchant gets 2 basic points plus 2 additional points for each resource, of whatever type, present on the 8 squares surrounding it at the end of the game. When scoring leaders which use the "+X/type" labels, the "X" is the layout size of your board. If your board is 5 by 5, then X = 5; if 6 by 6, then X = 6, and so on. You may choose to adjust the X for balance and your preferences.

Dicas para Vencer

• Be careful of orientation when placing split building tiles, as wrong placement can break up a large terrain into two smaller terrains.
• Creative use of split tiles can be very rewarding, as they can also be used to extend a cut off terrain to continue expanding it.
• Recruiting dragons can greatly enhance some of your character leaders; watch for matching symbols!
