**Game Objective**

Legendary: A Marvel Deck Building Game is a cooperative game for 1-5 players, where each player starts with a deck of basic hero cards. The objective is to work together to defeat the **Mastermind** four times, before he completes his evil **Scheme**. If the players succeed, everyone wins the game as a team, and the player with the most **Victory Points** is declared the most legendary hero of all.

**Preparation (Setup)**

Before starting, each player receives a personal deck of 12 cards, composed of 8 **S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents** and 4 **S.H.I.E.L.D. Troopers**. Then, players choose a **Mastermind** and a **Scheme** randomly. The **Mastermind** is placed in the designated space on the board, along with their 4 **Mastermind Tactics**, face down in random order. Players also prepare the **Villain Deck**, adding the **Villain** and **Henchman** cards specified in the chosen **Scheme**.

**The Game Turn**

On their turn, each player performs three actions:

  1. Plays the top card of the **Villain Deck**.
  2. Plays cards from hand to recruit and fight.
  3. Discards their hand and draws 6 new cards.

When a player plays the top card of the **Villain Deck**, it can be a **Villain**, a **Bystander**, a **Scheme Twist**, or a **Mastermind Attack**. Each of these has different effects on the game. Players can use **Recruit Points** to recruit new heroes and **Attack** to defeat **Villains**.

**End of Game and Scoring**

The game ends when players defeat the **Mastermind** four times or when the **Mastermind** completes their evil **Scheme**. If players defeat the **Mastermind**, the player with the most **Victory Points** is declared the individual winner. **Victory Points** are obtained by defeating **Villains** and rescuing **Bystanders**.

**Tips for Winning**

Here are some tips to help players win:

  • Focus on building a diverse deck with heroes from different classes, such as **Strength**, **Instinct**, **Covert**, and **Tech**.
  • Use **Recruit Points** to recruit more powerful heroes and improve your deck.
  • Defeat **Villains** to rescue **Bystanders** and gain **Victory Points**.
