About the game
In Longhorn, you and your opponent are Old West outlaws vying to see who can amass the most cash – by stealing cattle and gold nuggets, or by getting the other one arrested! The board is a 3x3 grid with locations featuring different amounts of colorful Longhorn cattle and sometimes gold nuggets. The goal is straightforward: grab the cattle of your color at your current location, move your pawn that many spaces, and flip the piece to signal the opponent's turn. If you empty a location of cattle, you get to take the token that was there, which can be good or bad. Watch out for the Sheriff, because if you capture him, you lose instantly! But if you manage to collect all the cattle of one color, victory is yours! If no legal moves can be made, the game ends and scoring begins: nuggets are worth their face value, and each of your cattle is worth a hefty sum for every cattle of the same color still on the board. It's a fast-paced, tactical, and no-nonsense game, perfect for those who enjoy a quick showdown with a touch of Western flair and strategy.
