How to Play Nucleum: Neons Promo

Game Objective

The Nucleum: Neons Promo is a promotional item that expands the experience of the base game Nucleum. The core objective remains the same as the original game, but you can now use Neon tiles to increase the complexity and rewards of your Energize actions, allowing you to obtain more Achievement tokens when supplying electricity to urban buildings.

Setup

To include the Neon tiles in your game, follow these additional steps after step 7 of the base game setup:

1. Place the Neon tiles with the dark side facing up on the side board.
2. Place the 1-electricity Neon tiles below the third Milestone tile (the lowest one).
3. Place the 2-electricity Neon tiles below the second Milestone tile.
4. Place the 3-electricity Neon tiles below the first Milestone tile.

Game Flow

The game flow follows the rules of the base manual, with one specific change during the Recharge phase:

• When placing a Milestone marker on a specific segment, you gain the Neon tile of your corresponding color:
  • Achievement segments 1-6: gain the 1-electricity Neon tile.
  • Achievement segments 7-12: gain the 2-electricity Neon tile.
  • Achievement segments 13-22: gain the 3-electricity Neon tile.

Actions and How to Play

The main change occurs during the Energize action:

• If you have a Neon tile in your supply, you can add it to an Urban Building during the Energize action.
• To do this, place the Neon tile next to the selected building.
• Consequence: This increases the amount of electricity required to supply the building, but in return, you gain more Achievement tokens for the action.
• After performing the action, flip the Neon tile to the energized side, just as is done with the building.
