About the game
What you do in a play session
If you're an Origins veteran looking to spice up your tabletop sessions, these District Promo Cards are the perfect addition! Originally released as part of the Man vs. Meeple Season 4 Kickstarter, this-set of 10-new District cards (#P01-#P10) is designed to be shuffled right into your existing deck, adding fresh-faced-districts to your gameplay.
But it's not just about adding more-of-the-same; it's about shifting the endgame trigger. These cards introduce a clever-twist to how the game concludes. Instead of just watching the Tower disk stock, players now have to keep an eye on the districts themselves. The game ends when there are 3 or fewer colors of Tower disks left AND at least half of the District cards (rounded up) have no Gold symbol above them.
This subtle shift forces a more nuanced approach to board presence and resource management, preventing the game from ending too abruptly and adding a layer of tactical depth. Even if you don't own the physical cards, the rules are designed so you can implement this-as a variant rule to refresh your base game. It's a small-scale expansion that delivers a high-impact change to the game's pacing and tension!
