Step by step

Goal of the Game

In Perfect Photo, you are a photographer trying to take the ideal photo of a party. Your goal is to discover the guests' preferences and position them in the photo to make them satisfied. The more preferences you meet, the more points you will earn. The player with the highest score at the end wins!

Setup

  1. Give each player: 1 screen, 1 score marker, 1 floor board, 1 table, 1 VIP card, 14 guest figures, and 10 decorations.
  2. Prepare the guest envelopes according to the number of players (e.g., 2 players use 5 envelopes each, with 4 in the center). Shuffle and place 3 preference cards in each envelope, without looking.
  3. Set up the exchange card deck (use the 6 cards with the symbol for the number of players) and leave it face down in the center.
  4. The player who most recently took a selfie will be the starting player and receives the reference card.
  5. Organize your area: position the floor board with the arrow pointing toward you, place the table in the marked space, and the decorations on top of it. Leave the screen behind the board and the figures beside it.

Gameplay Flow

The game consists of 6 rounds, each with 4 steps:

  1. Open Envelopes & Position Figures: Everyone opens their envelopes (one at a time) and views the preference cards. Position the figures behind the screen to try to meet the preferences.
  2. Reveal Exchange Card: The starting player reveals the top card of the deck and reads how the envelopes will be exchanged.
  3. Make the Exchanges: Follow the instructions on the exchange card (e.g., take 2 envelopes from the center and return 2).
  4. Pass the Starting Player Card: Discard the exchange card and pass the reference card to the next player (clockwise).

Tip: You can use your VIP card at any time by secretly placing it in an envelope to score that guest more times.

Actions and How to Play

  • Preference Cards: Show how the guests want to be positioned (e.g., "near guest X"). Consult the manual for details.
  • Exchange Cards: Determine how envelopes are exchanged between players and the center of the table.
  • VIP Card: Added to an envelope to multiply that guest's score.

There are no restrictions on positioning figures during the game, but in the final photo, each guest must occupy a space on the board, facing forward.

End of Game and Scoring

After the 6th round:

  1. Position the guests definitively in the final photo (it is not mandatory to use everyone).
  2. Check how many preferences were met per guest:
    • 0 preferences: -3 points
    • 1 preference: 1 point
    • 2 preferences: 3 points
    • 3 preferences: 6 points
    • Not positioned: 0 points
  3. Each VIP card in the envelope multiplies the guest's score (e.g., 2 VIPs = score ×3).

The player with the most points wins!

Tips for Winning

  • Use your VIP card on guests whose preferences you already know or can easily meet.
  • During exchanges, prioritize envelopes with fewer unknown preference cards.
  • In the final photo, don't risk losing points with difficult guests — leave them out if necessary.
