The Supreme Appliance is dead, and the throne is vacant! In Power Vacuum, you and your fellow ministers are ready for a fierce competition for absolute power. Forget loyalty; here, what matters is who has the most devious plan to seize the Supreme Seat. It's a trick-taking card game where the goal isn't just to win rounds, but to manipulate your opponents' power levels to fulfill your secret agendas. Think about who will end up with the most power and who will face defeat – all while you try to build your own grand statue to immortalize yourself as the new leader.
Each round is a new opportunity for machinations. You gain power by winning tricks with the highest card of the led suit, but the game gets more interesting with the Control Board. Whoever plays the lowest card of any suit can change the game's dynamics, stealing or exchanging power among players. If your secret agenda is fulfilled by the end of the round, you get a nice bonus in points. The first completed statue secures the supreme title!
Power Vacuum shines with its long-term strategy. It's not about winning everything, but about choosing the right moment for each card, orchestrating the rise and fall of your rivals. A brilliant touch is that the back of the cards reveals the suit, so you don't need to waste time counting others' cards; focus on being the cleverest. Oh, and watch out for Spies, the fifth suit that can turn the game around at any moment, as they trump even the trump suit! It's a fast-paced game, full of twists, and with a dash of dark humor about the lust for power.
