How to Play Project L: Ghost Piece

Game Objective

Project L: Ghost Piece is an expansion that introduces special Ghost Pieces of Level 5 and new puzzles with exclusive rewards. The main objective is to use these powerful pieces to optimize your strategy and gain an advantage during the base game of Project L.

Setup

To play with the Ghost Piece expansion, add the following components to the base game:

• 12 White puzzles
• 12 Black puzzles
• 30 Pieces (10 of each of the 3 types)
• 4 Player boards

This expansion is compatible with the base game and other expansions of Project L. Refer to the manual for details on how to integrate the components.

Game Flow

The game flow follows the rules of the base Project L, with the addition of Ghost Pieces and new actions. During your turn, you can perform standard actions from the base game, as well as access the Ghost action if you have a piece of that type in your supply.

Actions and How to Play

Ghost Pieces

Ghost Pieces are special pieces of Level 5. To obtain them, you must:

• Complete a specific puzzle from this expansion as a reward.
• Use the Level Up reward when upgrading a piece to Level 5.

Level Up Reward

Some black puzzles offer the Level Up reward, indicated by a single or double arrow:

• One arrow: upgrades a piece once.
• Two arrows: upgrades the same piece twice or two different pieces once each.

Note: You can only obtain Ghost Pieces by completing puzzles from this expansion, not through the standard Upgrade action.

Ghost Action

If you have a Ghost Piece in your supply, you can use the Ghost action:

• Return the Ghost Piece to the reserve.
• Take pieces of Levels 1-4 that match the shape of the returned piece.
• Place up to one new piece per puzzle you own. The remaining pieces go to your supply.

Restriction: You cannot swap Ghost Pieces for others during Final Adjustments.

Tips for Winning

• Prioritize puzzles with Level Up rewards to obtain Ghost Pieces more quickly.
• Use the Ghost action strategically to maximize the use of the pieces obtained, placing them in puzzles that need final adjustments.
• Do not discard Ghost Pieces during Final Adjustments, as they are valuable for later actions.
