Quando is a quick card game for 2‑6 players that flips the traditional goal of scoring high into a quest for the lowest possible total. Each round, you try to shed cards from your hand while keeping the sum of the remaining cards as low as you can. The deck consists of 55 double‑sided cards, each side showing a different digit from 0 to 10. At the start you receive 7 or 8 cards, depending on the number of players. On your turn you can either play a straight of exactly three consecutive numbers or discard one or more cards of the same value. After you play you draw one card from the deck, which you may keep face‑up or flip to the other side, but you can’t flip it back again. If you manage to play exactly three cards of the same rank, every opponent must either flip a zero in their hand to the back side or draw a card from the draw pile. This is the “Take That” mechanic that keeps the game lively. The round ends when a player has only zeros left in his hand, or when someone decides to “knock” and end the round. After the round is over, each player totals the values of the cards still in hand. The player with the lowest total receives zero points, while all others score their sum. If a player knocked but didn’t have the lowest total, he also receives a 5‑point penalty on top of his sum. Play continues until a player reaches 50 or more points; the player with the lowest score at that point is declared the winner. The game is fast, with rounds lasting around 15 minutes, and it combines hand‑management, a score‑and‑reset cycle, and a reactive “Take That” element that rewards careful timing. It’s perfect for people who love card games that are quick to learn but still offer depth and replayability.
