About the game
Recycle: Critical Times is the upgraded version of the classic Recicle, bringing fresh rules, components, and a fresh aesthetic that makes the game pulse with energy. You take the helm of a squad of pickers patrolling the streets of a city in crisis, while your cooperative attempts to turn trash into profit. The goal is simple: rack up the highest recycling score possible, but the path to victory is full of strategic decisions and logistical bottlenecks.

At the start, players have no money, so they must negotiate loans with high interest – which puts financial pressure on the first turn. Meanwhile, the pickers move around the board collecting paper, plastic, metal, glass, and even UHT food scraps. Each type of material has a different value at the cooperative, and choosing where to collect can completely change each player’s strategy. A new feature compared to the original edition is the ability to sell materials at a public warehouse before delivering them to the cooperative, generating immediate cash flow and allowing the player to invest in improvements.

The cooperative can hire designers, merchants, and more efficient recycling equipment. Each hire costs money but brings benefits that reduce processing time or increase the value of recycled materials. Balancing investment in infrastructure with the need to pay loan interest creates a classic economic dilemma: spend now to win later or conserve money and risk running out of resources.

The game blends two core mechanics – Area Movement and Pick‑up and Deliver – which require route planning and time optimization. Players must decide which pickers to use on each route, which materials to prioritize, and when to sell at the warehouse. Indirect interaction occurs as everyone competes for limited resources and more lucrative recycling contracts.

Recycle: Critical Times is perfect for those who love economic simulations, logistics, and environmental themes. The crisis scenario and high-interest rates add tension, while the ability to sell materials before recycling offers a market‑strategy twist. If you enjoy games that mix resource planning with investment decisions, this title will keep you hooked for hours.

In short, the game delivers an engaging resource‑management experience set in an environmental crisis context, with financial decisions that directly affect the final score. Get ready to optimize routes, negotiate loans, and turn trash into profit – all while trying to save the city from a climate crisis!
