About the game
What you do in a play session
Shadows of Brimstone: Frontier Town is the expansion that brings the frontier action right into the heart of the towns. Between mine missions, you now explore dangerous, opportunity‑laden frontier cities, with new town types—plague towns, outlaw towns, mutant towns—appearing randomly on the map. The expansion adds six fresh urban locations such as the Street Market, Sheriff's Office, Indian Trading Post, and Smuggler's Den, each offering mini‑challenges and resources. An expanded Travel Chart streamlines movement between towns and mines, while a new ranged foe, the Bandits, can show up both in the mines and on the streets, demanding new combat tactics.
Heroes can also run full adventures inside the town itself using the new Town Adventure Board. Protect townsfolk from demons in the alleys, engage in a shootout with bandits trying to rob the bank, or duel at high noon. Since buildings are placed randomly, the camp may now contain reduced versions of essential structures that were missing, like the doctor's office, church, or saloon, keeping the experience fresh. The expansion retains a light weight (3.33/5) and a playtime of roughly two hours, though it can stretch with extensive urban adventures. Perfect for 1‑6 players already fond of the Shadows of Brimstone core and craving deeper western‑horror immersion.
