About the game
What you do in a play session
Snail Antennae offers a quirky twist for card‑game lovers who enjoy a mental challenge. The goal is simple: win tricks, but how you play sets it apart. Instead of playing a single card, you combine two cards from your hand and lay them down. When you win a trick or decide to use a trump, you must reveal the cards still in your hand in descending order. If you end up revealing all your cards, you lose! So the strategy is to balance revealing and hiding. You can play several trump combinations while there are still hidden cards, but you can also play cautiously to avoid “blowing”. The game demands constant focus, as every move can change the course of the game. Moreover, the hand‑management mechanic adds another layer of depth, forcing players to think not just about which card to play, but when to reveal. The deck contains 32 cards, split into four suits, each representing a type of snail. Cards are valued from 1 to 8, and trumps are formed when you combine two cards of the same suit. When you have a trump, you can play the combination on the trick, forcing other players to follow the reveal rule. If no one has a trump, the highest‑valued card wins the trick. The game also includes special cards that let you temporarily hide cards from your hand, adding suspense. The game ends when a player runs out of cards or when all cards are revealed, and the player with the most tricks wins. The snail theme adds a fun, light atmosphere, and if you enjoy card games that demand reasoning and a touch of humor, Snail Antennae could be the next title to surprise you.
