Get ready for a new prehistoric adventure with Stone Age: The Mammoth Herd! This mini-expansion introduces a herd of mammoths near your village, offering a unique chance to tame them and use them as extra workforce for construction. But be sharp, as other tribes are also eyeing these furry giants!
The core gameplay of Stone Age remains the same, but the arrival of mammoths introduces an exciting dynamic. At the start of each round, the first player positions the herd on one of the resource locations, indicated by a new bonus card. This card also reveals which resource will be prioritized for the round. You allocate your workers as usual, but when it's time to use actions, the magic happens. If you have workers on the same location as the herd, you can move them to the bonus card to try and tame a mammoth. It costs food (or another resource) per worker moved, but the reward can be significant!
To tame a mammoth, all participants roll their dice simultaneously. The player with the highest single die roll wins the main bonus, choosing between a specific bonus or the general bonus. Other participants receive the general bonus. This competition for taming adds a risk-and-reward element that can turn the game around. At the end of the game, whoever has tamed the most mammoth bonus cards secures extra points. Stone Age: The Mammoth Herd can be combined with the base game and other expansions, adding more strategy and interactivity to your Stone Age survival experience.
