Game Objective

In Historic Fold: Mysteries of the Forest, you take on the role of Luma, a character who explores the Wild Forest to heal nature and confront the dark creatures that plague it. The goal is to advance the Light marker on the Wild Forest track by resolving locations and healing creatures, while preventing the Shadow marker from reaching the center of the track. Winning a scene depends on completing the specific objectives described in the Luma Wins section.

Game Flow

The game is divided into phases:

• Luma Phase: Choose an Action card, roll the dice to obtain successes, and resolve the card's abilities. After using a card, move it to the end of the River and clear the River.
• Shadow Phase: Activate creatures in the River, lose Spirit, and resolve their effects. Advance the Shadow marker and resolve the effect symbols on the track.
• Travel Steps: Discard Creature cards, clear the River, remove scenario markers, and prepare the next scenario.

Actions and How to Play

During the Luma Phase, you can perform the following actions using the Action cards:

• Dazzle: Repel creatures or advance the Light marker.
• Help: Resolve help locations or gain Crystals.
• Explore: Resolve exploration locations or buy Exploration cards.
• Heal: Heal creatures or gain Spirit.

To perform an action, roll the dice and obtain successes. You can spend Crystals to gain additional successes.

End of Game and Scoring

The game ends when you complete the scene objectives described in the Luma Wins section or when the Shadow marker reaches the center of the Wild Forest track. If Shadow wins, you can still continue the journey, but you will lose Spirit and draw a Shadow card.

Tips to Win

• Prioritize healing creatures to gain Crystals and strengthen your actions.
• Use the Dazzle ability to keep creatures under control and advance the Light marker.
• Spend Crystals strategically to ensure successes in critical actions.
