Get your defense plans ready, because the sky is about to get very crowded! In Target Earth, you and your allies aren't just playing a board game; you are trying to prevent humanity from being wiped off the map by a global alien invasion. The setting is our own planet, represented by a map highlighting the world's 30 most influential nations. The goal is simple yet desperate: accumulate victory points and keep countries under Human Alliance control before time runs out.
Each player takes command of an Alliance faction, managing their own base, financial resources, military units, and strategic cards. The dynamic is intense: you'll need to combat UFOs hovering in the sky and troops landing on the surface, all while trying to persuade countries to join your cause. But it's not just about combat! To truly turn the tide, the team must invest in technological research to understand the biology of these invaders and develop more efficient defenses.
The real challenge is that the aliens don't follow your script. They are controlled by the game itself, with actions determined randomly, becoming progressively more difficult each round. The game offers two very distinct modes of experience. In Basic Mode, it's pure cooperative fun: either the Human Alliance defeats the invasion, or everyone loses together. In Advanced Mode, the atmosphere gets much tenser and semi-competitive. Here, while everyone fights the aliens, each player has a secret agenda. This means that even if humanity survives, only one player will emerge as the true hero based on their individual objectives. It's a race against time and against the very distrust among allies!
